I realize that it's tough being a South Carolina driver. All that hard work of steering and changing lanes without signaling and honking the horn at other drivers who are so inconsiderate as to not have the reflexes of your favorite NASCAR star....

But do you think you NOT PULL INTO THE CROSSWALK WHEN YOU'RE STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT YOU DUMB MOTHERFUCKERS!

Houston millionaire adopts his girlfriend.

Why? Well, he's being sued for the DUI death of a man back in 2009, and this is little more then a calculated attempt to shield a ton of his money.

The latest defense tactic of accused paedophile Jerry Sandusky is that he had to shower with young boys in order to "teach them hygiene".

Breathe deeply.
Tell yourself you believe in "Innocent until proven guilty."
Do not follow through with the urge to put a 2x4 through this shitstain's skull.

This... this can't be real. Even for Gingrich.

No, no... he's actually saying "Poor kids should get jobs as early as possible." because, I don't know, improving schools... that's just crazy talk. Let's open some sweatshops instead!

(About the jury) If you call for their disruption or in any way imply they will be damaged because of their service -

Jeffs, interrupting:
I ... only relay the message.

Walther:
Well, don't relay the message.

Yeah, he's fired his lawyers, threatening the wrath of God against the jury and anyone else who is keeping him on trial, and let's face it, he's creepy as all fuck.

If there wasn't an ongoing debt crisis, I'd be paying more attention to this fucko.

Herman Cain says that communities should be able to ban mosques.

Okay, look, I think all religions are to some extent, daffy. But this sort of shit is just wrong. It's discrimination against a particular religious group. Now if a community wants to ban all religion, well... that's probably equally stupid, just a different sort of stupid. (Because it's unlikely to happen, and anyone trying it would be wasting their time.)

On a certain level, I cannot wait for the early primaries, where Cain will get his clock cleaned by oh.... practically every other candidate. (Pawlenty might give him a run for last place, we'll see.)

News of the World, the paper that is linked to illegally 'eavesdropping' on the phones of not only politicians and celebrities, but at least one murder victim AND U.K. troops who were killed in action, is going to shut down.

Sunday's issue will be the last. Mind you, the same folks what own/run the paper (Rupert Murdoch/News Corp) think that (a) this scandal "sullied" the good name of the paper, and (b) it was wrong to pay out-of-court settlements to some of the victims. (You know, I really hope that I'm reading that part wrong.)

Mind you, News Corp is still, in the wake of this, trying to buy British Sky Broadcasting Corporation, so it's not like they're little one little scandal try to affect business.

And now...

Birther dickheads (but perhaps I repeat myself) Jerome Corsi and Joseph Farah are suing Esquire magazine over a satirical blog entry that, shockingly, mocked the birther cause.

They are suing for a total of $285 million dollars. Why? Because the satirical article has 'hindered their ability to sell their book full of utter crapola' (okay, I'm paraphrasing).

Corsi? Farah? If you're reading this (okay, you're not, but what the fuck, I feel like calling you shitstains out by name), your book sales weren't hindered by the Esquire article. Your book sales were hindered by the fact that Obama wasn't born in Kenya, you drooling poltroons. And, you know, that little matter of Obama showing his long form birth certificate before your book hit the shelves.

But hey, you've never let facts get in the way yet, you blathering idiots. You probably fucking believe that the Earth is flat too.

Blago convicted on corruption charges.

Some sites are saying he was found guilty of 11 out of the 20 charges, but at the very least the jury's agreed on a verdict on 18 out of the 20 charges, so you can pretty much put a fork in him, he's done.
kierthos: (Default)
Eh, probably not.

Still... it turns out, that he may have dodged the draft, rather then just being lucky that his number didn't get called.

Because, it appears his number did get called. 18 months after he graduated college. During college, he received a few 2-S deferments. (2-S being the "I am a college student." category.) You can view his classification record here.

Oddly enough, he went from a "college student deferment" (2-S) to "available for unrestricted military service" (1-A), then back to 2-S, then back to 1-A, then to 1-Y (available for service, but has a condition that may limit his activity, so he could only be drafted in the case of a national emergency), then to 4-F. (Although the 4-F part was because 1-Y as a category was eliminated in December of '71.)

Here's the kicker though. The second time he was '1-A' was three months before he was suddenly found to be '1-Y'. Now, sure, it's possible that he developed some condition in that time. But it's also possible that Trump's daddy (who, by the way, was a multi-millionaire) paved the way for his son to skip out on military service.

So yeah... in a world where character meant something, this would probably end Trump's presidential aspirations. Here? Nah... Fox News will either ignore it or gloss over it, because hey, Obama's college transcripts won't speculate on themselves.

Edit: Well, fuck me sideways. There's actually an article on this over at Fox News.

Trump: I have a great relationship with the blacks.

He went on to say that it's horrible that black people vote for Obama simply because he's black. They should make up their own minds and fall in line voting for Trump instead. (hey, I'm paraphrasing...)

There's this rather abhorrent practice called "bear baying", here in South Carolina, apparently the only state in the U.S. where it is still legal.

Basically, you capture a bear (usually a cub), de-claw it, remove most of it's teeth, and then have it chained, and let dogs attack it, although not to death (usually) because then you'd have to get another bear.

Disgusted yet?

The particular asshats who practice this and the fans of it (of course there are fans of it. This is South Carolina, after all.) call it hunter training for the dogs.

Yeah....

Because, you know, when (oh please, if) those dogs are out being used in hunting other bears, out in the wild, those bears will be kind and considerate enough not to use their claws or teeth.

So basically, the excuse these drooling fuck-widgets use is a poor one.

And there's no way this can be made illegal until at least 2011, because the earliest time to pre-file legislation to outlaw this crap is December.

Okay, okay, Tancredo's always an asshole.

Now, however, he thinks that schools shouldn't get public funding for the children of illegal immigrants.

So, asshole, how's that supposed to work? You deny the schools funding for those children, and what... they're just supposed to make that money appear magically? I mean, either you end up with schools that are even more underfunded with the children of illegal immigrants still going to those schools OR you end up with the children of illegal immigrants not going to school at all, and doing who knows what when they should be in school.

Yeah, how dare they go "Oops, we kind of jumped the gun there, believing that doctored footage that Breitbart put out."

Bush was mistaken to try terrorists in civilian court

Basically, he's saying that Obama shouldn't press for the trying of any of the remaining Gitmo prisoners in civilian courts because even though Bush did it, it was a mistake to do so. Oddly enough, he didn't criticize Bush when Bush did it.

McConnell, by the way, is yet another Republican who dodged the draft in Vietnam due to political connections and lies (he supposedly needed to be cleared from active duty to attend NYU, even though he already had a law degree, and there is no record of him ever applying to NYU), is all for warrantless wiretapping (he introduced the Protect America Act which removed the requirement for warrants to FISA), and has spread FUD about the closing of Gitmo, saying it would lead to the release of murderers on the streets of the U.S.

GOP lawmaker says Dems put agenda ahead of country

As opposed to what the Republicans are doing, which is.... nothing.

I love this quote, though: "A top House Republican says passage of the health care bill shows that Democrats didn't get the message from voters last week and in summer town-hall meetings."

Yeah, those town-hall meetings... which were largely astroturfed. And let's not forget the lies the Republicans have spread about "socialized medicine", including the bullshit about how Stephen Hawking would be dead if he had to rely on NHS. (Which, shockingly, he has for decades, and he's still alive.)

Lindsay Graham (R-SC), John McCain (R-AZ), and Joe Lieberman (I-CT) are STILL douchebags.

Short version: "WAAAHHH! We don't want the government to spend any money on actually having trials for the people still locked up at Gitmo! We're douchebags who think they should be held for the rest of their lives without being charged!"

On the other side, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and Defense Secretary Robert Gates say that there should be the option of military commissions or civilian courts for the detainees.

Well, that's hardly the short version....

Assistant Attorney General fired after being pulled over while driving around with an 18 year-old stripper.

Okay, it says "employee of Platinum Plus", not stripper, but unless she's the coat-check girl....

Edit: It gets better. It seems that the officer who should have arrested the Assistant AG is married to one of the Assistant AG's co-workers. And the cop conferred with his wife over the phone about whether he should let the guy go without being charged. And they (the assistant AG and the stripper) weren't pulled over in a car. They were having sex in a cemetery.

oooops

Rush Limbaugh recently, on his radio show, was talking about Obama's college thesis. However, halfway through the radio show, Rush Limbaugh finds out that the supposed college thesis of Obama, wherein he is alleged to have expressed doubts about the Founding Fathers, was, in fact, a hoax, a joke, completely made the fuck up. The thesis in reference was a satire piece on a website. But Limbaugh defended himself by saying that it "felt true".

Well, you got me there. It felt true.

Limbaugh then left his radio show, and went home to marinate in a bathtub of bacon grease and Oxycontin. What's that? Excuse me, I've just been told that Limbaugh has long since kicked his painkiller abuse and is no longer nearly the porcine bastard he has been for years. But it felt true.

Madoff says he should only get 12 years, because a man of his age has a life expectancy of 13 years. So 12 years in jail would be "sufficiently address the goals of deterrence, protecting the public and promoting respect for the law."

FUCK. THAT.

The man defrauded people for billions of dollars.

Throw his ass in jail for the maximum allowed by law.
