Rupert Murdoch has issued a written apology for the whole "Sorry about illegally hacking your phones" thing that will be printed in British newspapers.

I guess all the investigations can be stopped now. He said... well, printed... that he's sorry.

He actually did issue an apology, but honestly, the investigations are certain to continue, if for no other reasons then (1) the British politicians are enjoying turning on Murdoch, because they've pretty much had to curry his favor for years (and payback is a bitch), and (2) it looks like News Corp. owned publications may have also hacked the phones of victims/families of victims of 9/11, and that's got both Democrats and Republicans in a "Motherfucker did what?" sort of mood.
