Regardless of whether I think any of the conflicts that the U.S. military is currently involved in are justified, I would like to thank those people who are often in harm's way, who would rather be home with their families, and who defend this country.

I'm a boring old fart, who back in the day was an active anti-nuke and anti-war protester in England. I knew a number of Vietnam draft dodgers, who were living in England on daddy's dime. I found them to be pretty contemptible. Not so those who either went when drafted, took conscientious objector status, or refused and were jailed.
