Michelle Bachmann says when (ha ha) she becomes President, she'll bring gas down to $2 a gallon.

Look, as much as I'd love the price of gas to come down, even with not owning a car, this is pretty much an empty statement. Despite what she thinks, the U.S. has very little direct control over gas prices.

But hey, she's Super-Bachmann. Able to leap tall tales in a single bound, able to jump from premise to conclusion without a thought in-between. Faster then a speeding hoveround! (ad nauseum)

Oh, and for the record, if anyone thinks I'm mocking her more because she's a woman, you're wrong. I'm mocking her more because there's so much there to mock. Between her and Sarah Palin, they have set the perceptions of women in the Republican party back years.

Plus, there's tons of precedent for Presidents and Presidential candidates to claim all kinds of things that they will unilaterally do, in spite of the existence of the Legislative branch.

I find it peculiar that every one screams "Oh, you sexist!" when someone takes a lousy picture of her (well, really...that corndog gobbling one WAS irresistible) or mocks some of the shit that falls from her open mouth.

Nobody screams sexism when the same thing is done to male politicians. What? Is there some law that says it only goes ONE way? No wonder political discussions are called "discourse"...someone somewhere is sure to be getting unhappily fucked!

Well, to be fair, there are a ton more male politicians, and if every one of their gaffes got the same amount of press, the newspapers would have no room for anything else. That being said, she is running for President, so one could hope she'd cut down on coming across badly, and hey, let's face it... she's running for President. If you cannot take the heat, learn to stop setting yourself on fire.

That last line said it all...for Bachmann AND Palin. Cause damn, well, I'm female and I know I will still take heat for this; but the rate of flame out suggests to me that both of them "sit" full time on propane torches.

And I do see a goodly amount of time spent on male politicians screw ups. Damn, Biden can't open his mouth w/o someone trying to make him look Neanderthal. (cue Geiko cave man outrage!)
