And now for a bit of a laugh
Michelle Bachmann says she is the 'unifying choice' that can beat Obama.
How about... no.
Let's look over at the polls on Real Clear Politics. There are, at the top of the page, four polls and the 'average' of those polls. In the average of those polls, Bachmann is placing fourth, behind front-runner Mitt Romney, as well as behind Perry and Palin, neither of which have actually said whether they're going to run or not. (And they weren't even options in one of the polls that corresponded to the average.)
Now, yes, Romney is facing more questions about his stance on same-sex marriage, and the health care deal he signed into law in Massachusetts. But Michelle Bachmann as the alternate choice? Sorry, can't see it happening unless Mitt just plows headfirst into the ground during an interview (or gets caught with a dead hooker).
And yes, polls can and will change over time. But Romney has a better then 13 point lead (on average), so everyone else needs to play catchup. (Hell, Pawlenty, Huntsman and Santorum probably fall within the margin of error of the polls. They'll be dropping out after the first couple of states, and odds are so will Gingrich and Cain. But we'll see.)

1. It's Bachmann. She said something untrue. Surprised?
2. Maybe her political plan is "Say something often enough, long enough, and people will begin to believe it's true."
