(no subject)

Arizona looking to claim 'dumbest fucking state' from South Carolina in requiring a review of all Presidential candidates' birth certificates. It's not law yet, but it could be....

Don't worry, South Carolinians, our state Senate is working on a similar bill.

Not sure it will pass muster.

I see a Libertarian challenging it, on the basis that the Constitution sets the requirements, and it is not for the several states to add their own.

I agree that it shouldn't pass muster, but (and this is assuming it even becomes law), the Arizona AG's almost automatic response will be to say that the Libertarian lacks the standing to challenge the law unless the Libertarian in question is running for President.

and you know for a fact that half the libertarians in the state will immediatly register to run for President.

Hell I'd do it if I had the time/resources. There's some _very_ well heeled Libertarians here.

AZ has a two party system in many parts. Republicans and Libertarians. I can't count the number of offices up last time that didn't even have a Democrat running.

*nod* Oh yeah, I have no doubts that it will get challenged. And probably go all the way up to SCOTUS if necessary.
