Unclear on the concept

McCain says "We've got them where we want them."

So, let me see if I have this right. Even the most favorable polls show you a few points behind Obama nationally. Even the best polls show you 100 electoral votes behind Obama.

And you have him where you want him?

Good luck with that, McCain. And, uh... you want want to have your doctor up the dosage on the medication you're on for that Alzheimer's.

...Yeah. When CNN has an eight point difference, Rasmussen has a fifteen point difference, and fivethirtyeight.com has Obama up 100+ points "right where we want them" is apparently behind you, with you over a barrel.

Honestly, though... I can't see him saying to a crowd of supporters "Well, guys, we fucked up. We're going to lose this one." so, it's not a huge surprise that he's trying to find a positive tone to take.

The "right where we want them" line though....

A theory I've seen going around is that the Republicans have been trying to lose this one; if that's the case then the line actually works in a fucked up, roundabout sort of way.
