And it's not going to be back today. I do have very cold water for the shower, though, which tends to make things go quickly. Apparently, the pipes are so old and fucked up that every time they replace a section of pipe and get the hot water running again, it fucks up some other section of old pipe because all the new pipe is acting too efficient and shit.

And one elevator is working now.

They might now; they didn't when I lived there.

Because of the regular elevator issues (background - the building was constructed in the 40s or 50s and has the original elevators; the repair company often has to machine parts to fix them - they want to replace them, but the building owner won't shell out the money for that), I never paid my rent until the last day you could do so and not be late.


And this is the place that the one time I tried to pay with cash (I was out of checks), they wouldn't take cash.

They probably don't want the cash on hand in case of robbery. And also because unless you get a receipt, you and they can't prove that you paid.

Plus, since it's not technically a debt, they don't have to take cash.
