I'm not surprised
Nov. 16th, 2010 09:12 amI am, however, appalled.
Top Republican says "Man, fuck due process. Let's jail us some "terrorists".
Now, before anyone jumps in my shit for being a hippie or whatever lame-ass excuse you might have for justifying this bullshit.... think about it. All someone has to do under this proposed Republican plan is convince a judge that you're a terrorist, on whatever flimsy evidence (that you or your lawyer won't be allowed to see because it would compromise the "War on Terror"), and you're in Gitmo (or it's successor) for years.
But hey, we have nothing to worry about, because this could never, ever be abused, right? And hey, fuck 'em, they're terrorists, right?
That shit didn't play too well in Britain.
Yup, the UK government is paying out millions of dollars to settle lawsuits filed by former Gitmo detainees. Gotta wonder how many millions the U.S. will be shelling out for some of it's little oopsies in the "War on Terror".
