[WoW] The patch is here
And they've fucked up as many things for rogues as they've "fixed".
WTG, Blizzard. Just fucking continue to make Stealth even more worthless, and screw up one of our cooldown abilities as well.
Oh, but you did finally fix the Dodge tooltip so it no longer says we can dodge ranged attacks. It only took you 8 months to fix a line of text.

And as for dodge against hunters... up until patch 1.10, in other words, since Beta, the dodge tooltip said we could dodge ranged attacks. But rather then actually make dodge even slightly useful against a hunter's attacks, they finally changed the tooltip. My melee attacks can be parried, blocked, dodged, or I can outright miss. With a Hunter, their attacks are either hit or miss. You can't dodge. You can't get a shield in front of them (not that a rogue can even use shields, not even bucklers), and you can't parry them.
Now, I'm not saying that I should be able to dodge every single arrow/bullet that a Hunter fires, but I can't dodge any of them. Ever. I could pop both Evasion and Ghostly Strike and have over a 90% dodge rate, but apparently, even that is not enough to get out of the way of even a single arrow among many.
And a dead Rogue's DPS is zero. But Blizzard doesn't seem to care about that, what with the multitude of high-end mobs that have massive AOE attacks that we can't dodge or, most of the time, resist. Warriors at least have a great many more hps to soak the damage. But we have to be in melee range as well, and we have 2/3rds or worse HPs then the Warrior, at best 1/2 the armor, and whereas a Warrior can wear a "tank" set of equipment to do his job, we have to wear equipment that maximizes our DPS which frequently means that we have to minimize our resists.
Factor in that Blizzard's devs highly value the +X% to dodge bonus on equipment, which, as I have already stated, is practically worthless versus many mobs in PVE and most classes in PVP, and we're left with the short end of the stick most of the time.

Second, the AOE thing. That is the mages way to break stealth. Warriors get one in the bleed we can drop on you, hunters get flare, etc. The mage AOEs you, slice him up. He won't have the hp to withstand you for long.
Third, Blizzard expects, nay requires, you to have different sets of equipment for various raids, in PvP, etc. Yes, dodge % is overrated. But as far as mobs that rogues are supposed to solo, it's very nice.

My complaint isn't that I can't dodge bullets/arrows. (Okay, it is, but read the whole thing first.) It's that from post-Beta release to the 1.10 patch, the Dodge tooltip said we _could_ dodge ranged attacks. It took Blizzard, what, 18 months?, to fix a line of text.
Further, they once tested what would happen if dodge did apply against ranged attacks, such as the bread and butter of Hunters. What they noticed (in Hunters vs. Rogues) was about a 40% damage reduction on the test servers. Hunters, of course, screamed bloody murder, and the change never made it off of test. Because, of course, every arrow should hit the target. Every bullet should find it's mark. Because a Rogue with an Agility approaching 300 should never be able to get out of the path of any of hundreds of missiles fired at him.
Further, Blizzard apparently never even considered making Dodge work at a reduced rate vs. ranged attacks. Even if it was at 1/3 of normal, it would be something. But since it would really only help Rogues out... well, we can't have that....
As for the Mage AOE thing. Look, if I take damage from the spell, I have no problem with it breaking stealth. (Okay, very little problem. When a rank 1 Arcane Explosion does 12 damage to me and I have over 3000 hps, I should at least have some sort of chance to stay in stealth.) If there is a special effect from the AOE, like being rooted, I can accept that it would break my stealth.
When I completely resist the effect, take no damage, and nothing happens to me, I should not come out of stealth. Period. End of mother-fucking story.
