Newt Gingrich, Rick Perry, Michele Bachmann and Herman Cain will not be giving speeches at the Republican Convention. And they still haven't decided if Donald Trump or Sarah Palin will be speaking.

Although, I would suspect that of the two, the Donald is the less likely to make the cut.

In fairness, I don't recall Hillary Clinton or John Edwards speaking at a Dem national convention in 2008. There's something mildly off form for the primary losers to get up and espouse about the party.

Actually, according to this, Hillary Clinton did speak at the 2008 Democratic Convention.

But still, while it would be odd to have all of them speak, having none of the other major credible candidates (or Ron Paul... haha) speak... it just strikes me funny. Like they really want to stay on the message of "Yes, this is who you actually picked."

Having Ron Paul would still make sense to me since he's got such a strong contingency and he was never really considered a front-runner anyway. It DOES say something about people having thin skin that he's not given a bigger role. And also fuels the rage of a million YouTube comments.

(I suddenly have it in mind to troll a subsection of Reddit around the time of the Republican national convention...)
