and the first two code releases I've done at my new job have involved document creation.

Okay, the first two outside of some website HTML stuff.

So today, about 4-ish, at work, I was told "Hey, the boss wants {change} and {other change} done on the web-site."

I ask "I assume that he also wants {related change} and {other related change}?"

"Yeah, probably."

[ten minutes later]

Me: "Done."

Head of IT: "Already? Damn."

And this is after I fixed a bug that apparently I was the first to notice, last week.

Made it through another Finals week. Now there's just the two weeks until Christmas and the attendant calendar and greeting card orders.

So...

I'm working alone this entire week. Normally, I work with the other third shifter on Wednesday nights, but he's not going to be in tonight. You see, we have this thing called 'floating holiday hours' which is eight hours of time we can use during the year for a holiday that isn't on the list. (The ones on the list are things like the Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas... that sort of thing.)

If you don't use them by December 31st, it resets, and you lose them.

He hasn't used his yet. So he's taking tonight off, to use them up.

Can't say I blame him.

It also means I get to sleep two more hours tonight, so I can't say I'm horribly upset by the prospect either. :P

Still, we have a few days left in the finals week at the University, and I'm not looking forward to that. I can only hope that I don't have too many "last minute" projects in over the next few days.

Last night was the busiest Wednesday night I've had in quite some time. Part of that is explained by next week being Thanksgiving, and a number of customers are getting things done before heading out of town.

Another part of it is explained by the last day of classes at the University of South Carolina being on December 2nd. (Finals then run from the 5th to the 12th.)

Oddly enough, I haven't seen a single calendar or greeting card order, not even the type we do in-store, and we've been handing out coupons for that stuff for weeks now.

Hopefully the next few nights won't be too bad, because those are the nights I'm scheduled to work by myself.

*groan*

Was at work for almost 12 hours. Not only was it a busy night (not customer-wise, thankfully, just work-wise), but right as I was ready-ish to leave around 8:30, I was obliged to stay and help out with a couple of jobs that were no longer due tomorrow, because they were due today.

I really hope next week is a bit more relaxed.
