So, Blizzard has stated what the next expansion to World of Warcraft will be. It is Mists of Pandaria, and you will be able to finally play Pandarans.

And they're adding the Monk class.

That's odd. The reaction I'm hearing from everyone who plays the game is, "Pandas and monks? Really? That's not real WoW lore, and I'm quitting. (Except I'm not.)"

Pandarens have technically been part of Warcraft history since Warcraft III, and if people were going to get pissy about changes to the lore and quit because of it, you'd think it would have happened when they added the fucking space goats.

When I say "I'm not," I really mean it. They lost me with the end game of Bitch King, and Cata just left me completely unimpressed. I'm not paying $16 a fucking month to work a second job. Hell, since I kicked the WOW habit, it's amazing how many hours in the day I have left over to work on comics and books.

And that's exactly why, whenever a good friend of ours tries to get us to join, I say "FUCK NO" as does the mate.

She's been trying to get us to join since 2004. Answer's still no.

that's exactly it. once you hit the level cap its log on every day, do those handful of quests that take up most of your evening. repeat for god knows how long until you can play with the big boys.

fuck that. if i want to play a game, i'll start up dragon age 2.

*nod* I never raided, and Blizzard made it pretty damn clear that their focus is largely on raiding (and fucking over Engineering). Them adding monks and Pandaren is not enough, in and of itself, to bring me back. Besides which, they're also changing the talent system AGAIN, and given their track record with it, I expect another fucking over of Engineering.
