Well done, Anonymous. Well done.

Anonymous takes down child porn websites, leaks users names.

Of course, considering that such websites are pretty much illegal, oh... everywhere, I have to wonder how many of those user names are fake or stolen IDs.

I find that very amusing. As you say, many of the names are surely fake....but since they use false names, they have fans. Fans communicate. Sooner or later someone somewhere knows who/where the real person is in meat life.

And all of that is traceable via analysis of the sort I did in the military, and I suspect still happens in police work.

They tend to rely on IP traces.

The so called "darknet" (which is old news btw) via the TOR browser makes things more difficult due to relay proxies. But if they can get warrants for IP data from enough proxies they might make a few arrests.

Yes, all that techie stuff, too. But I was speaking in terms of old fashioned 'humint'....human intelligence. People talk online. Not all the talkers are hidden.....someone who knows someone who knows (and boasts) about someone is 'in the clear' identity/location wise.

And that person leads to another, and another....and so on added to the techie stuff. And a case is built.
