Interesting
Typing this from my computer. Now working again. Mostly. It seems to boot up a bit slower. May have to investigate that. All my files are here, though. (I'm planning on replacing the agp440.sys file though.)
It insists that the paging size is too small, and you know what? It's right. It is. It's set to 0 Mb. How'd that happen? Beats me. I tried to reset it once and it insisted it needed to shut down before it the changes could apply. Tried that. Didn't work too well. Told it to restart. It got the "shut down" portion of that correct, but didn't bring it back up. Not fun. But it's starting to be a functional computer again.
Update: Ooookay... it apparently doesn't want to save any changes to paging size. Odd indeed.
Update to the update: Woo! Got the paging size fixed without having to re-install! We likes not having to re-install. Almost as much as we likes our Precious. (And we hates nasty Hobbits!)

You know when you're installing and it asks for a path/folder? put in a differant folder name. Then once you're all up and running in your newly installed windows, just delete the old folder. You'll have to reinstall programs and allt he jazz that comes with a win reinstall. But it's better than losing everything on your drive.
Woo!
*does the white-boy dance* (yes, the only dance I know other then the "Staying Alive" disco dance)
I'm still going to be backing up my files on CD relatively soonish though. I'm not going through the "my games, my mp3s, my other files! oh, the angst!" anguish again. And, after all, that is what having a CD burner and a spindle of CDs is for.
