Falling on a sword for Rupert Murdoch

Rebekah Brooks, the only person at News of the World who wasn't canned when the paper abruptly shut down, has resigned.

You know, honestly, I see Murdoch pointing to this as "Hey, we've dealt with the problem. Really we have." (wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say no more)

News Corp has also had to drop their bid to completely buy British Sky Broadcasting. But the fallout should continue. It really should. Whether it will... that's another story altogether. Right now, there's not only the scandal of hacking people's phones to read the messages (and in at least one case, delete some messages), but there's also allegations of bribing police to look the other way.

And... the FBI is getting involved. There are more allegations of phone hacking, this set involving victims of the 9/11 attacks, and their families. News Corp, by the way, also owns Fox News, so needless to say, the U.S investigations have me interested.

I am likewise interested in the FBI following this ....as I posted on my rant journal here on DW. ESpecially if the Brits are going to act like it is all band-aid fixed and such.
