snow

So we got some snow here. While I was at work.

And I was given the authority to decide whether we would close or not.

Well.... at one point, snow was coming down pretty hard, and accumulating on the road, as well as the sidewalks. And given that people in South Carolina drive on snow and ice like old people fuck, I made the decision, closed the store, did all the e-mails and phone calls and whatnot.

.... and it's stopped snowing.

Great. Like I need this.

......

So we're going to be closed in the morning, and I really hope it starts snowing a lot more to justify this decision because right now, I'm second-guessing myself a lot.

EDIT: HA-HA! SNOW! GREAT BIG SHEETS OF IT!

Nah, you made the right call based on conditions at the time. Second guessing to blame yourself is never helpful.

If you hadn't shut, and it'd got worse, you'd be second guessing that too. School I work at has this sometimes, but the head's got it to the level where she knows it's a judgement call on the day, and the only bad decision is to duck it.

By which you mean, "..every chance they get, for hours on end", right?

Watch it, young one. I'm a 58-year-old newlywed, and I'll give you so much TMI that your ill-considered stereotype will be smither'd into bloody smithereens, gasping "what happened?" with their collective dying breaths.

I'd beg to differ, but..

..well anyway. What age IS old, then?
Whatever number you name, I'll be sure to come back at you on this when I reach that age. I hope. >:-D
