Just a thought

She keeps me safe and warm by threats and misconceptions

Hrm... you think they were on to something here?

Afghanistan, then Iraq. Libya is trying to get on our good side, North Korea is starting to make noises like they want to play nice... so Syria then? Maybe Iran?

Heh...

Healthy dose of fear in the world...

When the U.S starts kicking ass, and taking names, people sit up, take notice, and think "Hmmmm... Maybe we should start doing what we're supposed to be doing..."

Well, that wasn't quite the point I was trying to make. Sure, the sabre-rattling and then ass-kicking in Afghanistan and Iraq has probably made a lot of other countries sit up and take notice, and in some cases (Libya) reconsider certain things.

But, let's face it, the American public was and still is being manipulated and lied to over Iraq. I'm not saying that Saddam wasn't a scum-sucking waste of a human being who deserves whatever painfully excrutiating death the Iraqi people plan for him. I'm not arguing that he was responsible for deaths of thousands upon thousands of people in his own country, and probably has a place in Hell reserved for him.

But we were lied to over the necessity of removing him from power. Again, don't get me wrong, I'm glad he's out of power, and even though they might not say so, most other Arab leaders are probably glad of the same. I'm saying that even though the effect is good, the cause was flawed. Bush lied to Congress, he lied to the U.N., he lied to us.

And so far, he's gotten away with it.
