New microbe discovered eating Gulf oil spill

Apparently, it's either a new species of microbe or a mutation of an existing species, but it's 'eating' oil, and not significantly depleting the oxygen levels in the water.

I wonder what it will eat when it runs out of oil.

Maybe plugging that leak wasn't such a hot idea after all.

It's probably something that naturally lives off of the smaller amounts of oil that are released naturally. So, we'll have a bloom, then a die-back, I wonder what will result from this.
