The blogger's (who actually used to work in the government) very own website brings up an excellent point:

Where are the lawsuits?

Let's go back in time. I remember full well when the John Edwards story was busted by the Enquirer. NOBODY believed it. It was denounced publicly as the worst kind of lying, the most hideous fabrication in an election year.

But, as someone pointed out at the time, there was no lawsuit.

If someone tells lies about you, those lies can be cause for defamation and slander suits. Politicians are usually VERY quick to press these charges, as are other celebrities. The only reason they WOULDN'T press these charges is if the lies aren't actually lies.

This story is getting HUGE media time. Amazingly disproportionate to the actual situation, even - fuck, Sarah Palin has even weighed in on it.

So where are the lawsuits?

That's a good point.

But I gotta say, I look at her, I look at him... and I think "NO FUCKING WAY."
