Any thoughts on how long to steam onions, zucchini and mushrooms?

Grill or saute those. Steaming?

A bit of olive oil or vegetable oil. Some salt, fresh ground black pepper, maybe a bit of minced (or powdered) garlic. Toss veggies in, skewer if grilling, just in pan otherwise.

Cooking times will vary somewhat, but I would think that as soon as the onions start to caramelize, you'd have the rest cooked (possibly a touch overcooked, but you have to experiment).
