Cromartie resigns seat, council votes to fill the seat in the April 6th election.

Yeah, just less then a month away, thereby insuring that there's no time for anyone but someone ridiculously well known (for this city, at least) to win the election. Why, we wouldn't want to have time for anyone to actually have to campaign, would we? Nah, let's hand-pick the successor.

Edit: And yes, I did give some thought to running for the seat.

I don't think you're quite capable of the level of corruption that seems to be required to sit on a governing council.

Even the city ones like in my small town are rife with scandal.
