Recipe for Evil Cookies

(This recipe is not intended for normal human consumption. All sugar quanties have been halved, and the chocolate is not meant to be tasty. This is an evil cookie recipe, after all.)

1 cup butter
1/4 cup white sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups unsweetened chocolate chips or carob chips

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Test temperature with small child or unwanted pet.

In a large bowl, severely pummel together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat viciously in the vanilla and eggs one at a time. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt. Leave some salt to put in paper cuts later. Stir into the sugar mixture. Finally, mix in the chocolate chips. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten with brass knuckles, as needed.

Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until edges are burnt solid. (Okay, okay, you want golden edges.... sheesh) Remove from baking sheet to cool on wire racks. Serve to guests who are on torture racks.

Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
