Does anyone know what would happen if you poured Drano over a Duracell battery?

I accidentally dropped a AAA battery down my sink drain, and the sink was already draining slowly. I'm just wondering if I should wait until Monday and have the building maintenance guys take the trap off to get the battery out.

I'd venture to guess that if there wasn't some type of mini explosion, there would be fumes of some kind that would enjoy killing you while you slept.
