Whoa
Okay, this won't mean a lot to most of the people who read this LJ, but it will to some of them... the nearby University (USC - which is the University of South Carolina, not the So. Cal. one) had been doing renovations of the Russell House, which is the student activity center and 'home' to most of the campus dining facilities.
Well, I had a chance to walk around and see what they've done, as most of the renovations are complete...
1) It's now much easier to get between the main floors of the building.
2) There are a number of new choices for dining. There's a Burger King, Pizza Hut, bagel place, juice bar kinda thing... along with an italian place (calzones, pizzas, fettucini...)... and... there is a sushi place.
A sushi place.
I'm eating seaweed salad right now, from a place that had previously taken the art of unhealthy food to a new greasy high. There is a place less then 5 minutes' walk away that may even serve sashimi if I ask for it. (There was a line, so I decided not to bother them too much.)
Damn, this is good.

The sushi is not the best. (Not the worst, as I didn't have to go to the bottle of Pepto...)
Their seaweed salad, however, is excellent.
