Uh..... okay

Sarah Palin links resignation to 'higher calling'.
Outgoing Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Saturday laid the groundwork to take on a larger, national role after leaving state government, citing a "higher calling" with the aim of uniting the country along conservative lines.

She thinks she's conservative Jesus?

She thinks that she can rally the conservative faction of the Republican Party around here. The thing is? Resigning before her term's up as Governor is not a good way to start that process.

No kidding. And it's just going to make her easy fodder for criticism if she runs for the Republican nomination in 2012. The Republicans she'd be running against (assuming they don't all invalidate themselves due to sex scandals ala Mark Sanford) will be quick to point out that she quit early due to the constraints of the job of Governor of the least populous state (wait... maybe second least populous... there can't be many people in Rhode Island either...), and on the off chance she gets the nomination, Obama and the DNC will rip her a new one for quitting her job.

You can practically here the quotes now "Will she quit being President if things get too tough for her?"

Now.... I think we will have a woman President within the next decade or two... I just don't see it being Palin.

Alaska beats out Wyoming, Vermont and North Dakota. But still, less than 700K people.

Actually, it's potentially crazy-as-fox. She hasn't been spending a lot of time in Alaska, she's been too busy making money hand-over-fist with speaking engagements and the like. Her Governor peers have been self-imploding, so she could very easily go into lurk mode, build up a bankroll, and come back to play some very nasty cards, all the while decrying the attacks upon her as the very politics as normal that she quit to avoid participating in, and that she wants to fight against.

Either that, or she's looking to replace Rush.

One could hope that the fat bastard is not long for this world, but you'd think clinical obesity and abuse of painkillers would have done him in by now.

He actually lost a lot of weight while detoxing.

Unfortunately, none of the fat that he lost was from between his ears.
