the fuck?

I can pay my bill online, adjust, add or remove any services, but I have to call a number and wait on hold to cancel the goddamn phone service?

Edit: 40 minutes on hold before I could cancel my service. And yes, I already have the new cell phone.

Naturally. They make it harder to discourage people from canceling.

My Xbox Live Gold account auto-draws $8 a month from my bank. I barely use the online part, which is all signed up for using the xbox.

But I don't cancel it because they make you wait on hold for forty minutes to talk to some guy in India who says things like "well you could sell some of your old games to pay for another month..."

I just have to wonder... the whole time I was on hold, could they hear the profuse swearing (starting at about the 15 minute mark)?

No, I was cancelling my land line and had to wait on hold for 40 minutes. I now have a cellphone through Sprint.
