At least I didn't have to hear any of the same sort of clueless asshole as when I saw "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" or "Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring".
Fully half the people at "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" were apparently expecting a Jackie Chan movie. So yeah, they didn't understand or appreciate the movie much.
About a third of the people at LOTR didn't know of the existence of the books, and I had to explain to one person that it was a trilogy.
Idiot: So that's it? Man, what happens with the ring? Me (overhearing them): It's the first movie. There's going to be two more. Idiot: Really? Me: Yes. The next one will be called "The Two Towers" and the third will be called "Return of the King". Idiot: How do you know this. Me: Because I've read the books. Idiot: This is based on a book?
And as they walked away I could only wonder why they fuck they even picked the movie in the first place.
*nod* Yeah, the first LotR movie was ruined because two guys behind me kept talking about how much better it would be if they were stoned. And then giggling every time they remembered Gandalf said "hobbit weed".
The second movie I sat next to five Merry and Pippin fan girls. Who were in costume. And loud. They finally shut up when I told them that if they weren't quiet and quit ruining the movie for other people with their screaming I was going to have them dragged out of the theater by their stupid prostetic ears.
