So, I've been away from WoW for most of the last week

Because I've been cleaning my apartment.

It is now cleaner then it has ever been, to the best of my knowledge, and I'm not even done yet. But I can only assume that the person living below me on the 6th floor has heard creaking noises as several hundreds pounds of stuff have been thrown out by me.

And, like I said, I'm not done yet.

But today is a day of rest. And WoW. I'm probably not going to get the "Elder" title for the Lunar Festival event, but ehhh... who cares? I'm still having fun with it.

But of course, the good is tempered with the "WTF?"

Blizzard is planning on radically changing the way ammunition works for guns and bows. Instead of having a quiver/ammo bag taking up one of your bag slots, it's going to be handled differently. How, exactly, I'm not sure yet. But it's going to pretty much spell the end of Hunters having to pay 100+ gold for a high-end dungeon clear. And it's also going to spell the end of Engineers having something else to sell.

No, I don't know what is going to happen to all the ammo recipes that Engineers get. I suspect that they'll be altered to fit the new premise that Blizzard is using, but I strongly doubt we'll get anything to replace what we lose from this change.

And when 3.1 brings Ulduar into the game, I'm betting there will be somewhere between fuck and all for Engineers there, either.

From what I've heard in Guild Chat (take with a grain of salt) is that the quiver/ammo pouch/whatever) is still going to be a container, but it will go on the character sheet where ammo is.

If they took it away completely, hunter dps would drop a lot as that is a 15% haste for higher end hunters.

Of course, you could always log into test and see what is going on.

No, no... apparently, ammo is going to be handled differently, as in
Consumable ammunition has been removed from the game. Arrows and bullets no longer stack, but are not consumed. Ranged attack speed bonus gained from quivers and ammo bags will be preserved in a different capacity.
This means that a chunk of income that Engineers had is going bye-bye.

Along with what amounts to over a dozen recipes. If this is implemented as represented, a Hunter is not going to need to buy multiple stacks of, say, Fel Iron Shells (or whatever is appropriate for their level) every time they need to refill their ammo bag. No, instead, they buy it once. Ever. And they don't need to buy more ammo until they want to upgrade to the best ammo available for their level.

Ahhh... ok... they are doing to it, what was done to thrown.

Of course, all this means is that they are going to have to come out with stat ammo now, otherwise everyone just ends up using the same two or three different ammos at max level (i.e. Timeless arrows or whatever they are called).

I would like to hope that they come out with stat ammo. I would also like to hope that Engineers get to make most of it, instead of it being put on vendors or as rep rewards.

I have very little faith in Blizzard when it comes to Engineering these days.

From what I understand you're just going to need to equip one piece of ammo. So, you'll still get to sell things, only once. *eye roll* Personally, I think that the ammo issue is equivalent to the mana issue they were recently talking about with casters; running out of X should be a threat you need to worry about.
