Well, shit

From the White Wolf online catalog:

05027 Mind's Eye Theatre Dark Epics Out of Print

This was one of the books they were listing with their $6.66 sale, and it is part of the Camarilla LARPs "required books" as it is heavily referenced in the 6.0 CRS (Camarilla Rules Supplement).

Okay... first it was just out of stock. Now it's out of print? Way to go, there, fellows...

Everyone who predicted this, raise your hand. *raises hand*

Edit: Still irritated, but I have an explanation now. Thanks Charles.

Secure PDF software? There's something wrong with Acrobat Reader 6.0? Available for free download from the Adobe site?

Charles, it's not a bash on you or on WW. But the fact of the matter is, at work, I can convert practically any file format to PDF or scan in documents by hand if necessary and make PDFs of them. Is there a reason it needs to be secure?

I know that churning out a PDF is relatively easy, I have Acrobat 6.0 also.

However the concern was that the techies wanted to keep the sharing of the file to a minimum outside of the org since they are going to be free for the Camarilla. Thus a secure e-book style download that could not be shared between users.

I have been working to convience them that it really is not necessary since to get the original file you would have to log into the members only site. Hopefully that will sink in.

Ahhhh.... much is made clear. Don't know if this will be a point in the favour of getting it out quicker, but PDFs of the AD&D 3.5 books can be downloaded off of KaZaA, so it really doesn't matter how they do it... all it takes is one person who doesn't care about the IP and it's off like gang-busters.

Incidentally, I'm going to post a mention on the Cam boards that there will be a PDF of the appropriate materials coming "soon", if that's okay with you?

My argument to them exactly, the secondary argument was that we are not reprinting the books and will not lose revenue on them.

Sure post away, thanks
