Okay, what the fuck?

The power button on the front of my computer tower "blinks" when the computer is in sleep mode. Considering that I rarely, if ever, shut off my computer, this is very annoying, also considering that the tower is literally just a couple feet away from where I sleep, and the bright blinking light wakes me up.

Anyone have any idea how to get the light to not blink when the computer goes into sleep mode?

Not offhand.

However, I recommend duct tape.

That would leave tape crap on the tower front. I think I'm just going to "borrow" a pad of sticky notes from work and slowly go through those.

scotch tape with cardboard.

Alternately just disconnect the light from the motherboard.

Have I never mentioned how bad I am with hardware? I am not disconnecting anything from the motherboard. This computer is brand new, and I would end up either electrocuting myself (yes, somehow, I would, even if I unplugged everything) or I would somehow break something I didn't want broken.

You could jsut tell it to not go into sleep mode.

Likely the control for the blinking light is part of the motherboard config. There MIGHT be something in the Bios to turn it off, but it's more likely there's no way to stop it.
