So, occasionally, I think I should start exercising.

I mean, I am getting a little thick around the midsection, but then...

I saw a man jogging today. And as he got closer (we were approaching one another), I saw that he had this horrible sort of smile on his face. Something like a rictus of a smile. Like he was thinking "Yeah, I'm jogging! Oh Jesus, the pain!"

So yeah, that kind of put a damper on getting myself into shape. I mean, who am I kidding here? I've never had really bad health, but I've never been the picture of health either. If I ever grace the pages of a fitness magazine, it's going to be for an article entitled "Don't want to look like this any more?"

But here's the thing. I'm going to die. Eventually, no matter what condition I'm in, I'm going to die. It could be fifty years from now from a heart attack in celebration of my one millionth cheeseburger, or a pissed off customer could beat me to death with a stapler tomorrow. Yeah, I'm trying to eat healthier. I've had more salads this month alone then I have in the past three years (although with as much Thousand Island dressing as I put on them, I'm probably not helping things any), and I'm trying to cut down on the stress in my life thanks to my recent bout with acid reflux...

But after seeing this man jogging along with this look of pain and discomfort, I think I understand why some people go in for liposuction. It's quick, it's easy. Okay, yeah, someone is hooking a vacuum cleaner up to your belly button and sucking the fat out, but hey... at least you're not jogging.

Similar issue here. I hate exercise, for it is painful. I don't mind doing weights, but cardio type stuff is just way too unpleasant.

I don't know about thousand island, but a healthnut friend of mine told me to drown my salads in ranch if I want to, because apparently milkfats are good for you.

It's the 400 calories worth of saturated fat crispy fried chicken and croutons that tend to take the health factor out of most american salads.

Well, they're chef salads to begin with, so while it has the green leafy stuff (lettuce, I think it's called), it also has ham, turkey, cheese, an entire hard-boiled egg AND then I add the dressing.

So, while it's closer to a salad then say, a taco salad, it's probably still not the best salad I could eat.
