Oh goody, this makes me feel safer

The Feds are planning to collect DNA from everyone theiy arrest. You know, regardless of whether they're actually charged with a crime or not.

I feel safer already, knowing the standards of efficiency and privacy that the government has maintained on the information they already collect on us. And, of course, this will all be done under-budget and with efficient contractors.

*nod* And that's (presumably) for actual criminal cases, rather then "Hey, these are the samples from people protesting outside the RNC that got arrested."

I cannot see any way that this could be a good thing, even discounting the possible violations of civil liberties.
