(Side note: No, I do not follow flemco's belief that all law enforcement are corrupt, evil fuckups. Some are, yes. They make the ones who aren't corrupt, evil fuckups look bad. And yes, I've had to deal with asshole cops before. I've also had to deal with cops that were very professional and courteous. I've got a lot of respect for the good cops out there, however few there seem to be these days.)

Hey now, hey now now.

I don't believe ALL law enforcement are corruptm, evil fuckups. I'd be willing to concede that there are maybe 20, possibly 30 cops in the USA who are just, wonderful people who should be doing the job and who help out our society like saints.

But I'd also concede the same of Mafia Members, Mexican Biker Gang Members, and Methamphetamine dealers.

With that kind of ratio, it's a much smarter assumption to see all law enforcement as the evil fucking thugs they probably are.

It's the only rational assumption, given that police assume everyone they meet is a criminal.

I suppose it depends on how you meet them.

The last five times I've been asked for ID by a cop, I've given my Dept. of Defense ID, and I've had no problems with the police in regards to politeness, civility and professionalism.


Not even the time outside the bar where a fight was quickly brewing between my crowd and a redneck with a tattoo of "Honkey-Tonk" across his neck.
