What the hell

Okay, going to do the movie quote meme. Some of these will be remarkably easy, but then, it would be damned near criminal to do favorite movie quotes and not use some of these movies.

(Casablanca - Guessed by [livejournal.com profile] egearman)
1) "Realizing the importance of the case, my men are rounding up twice the usual number of suspects."

(The Usual Suspects - Guessed by [livejournal.com profile] kostika)
2) "Old McDonald had a farm ee i ee i o. And on that farm he shot some guys. Badda boom badda bing bang boom."

3) "The Forty-Seven Ronin. Do you know it?"

(The Maltese Falcon - Guessed by [livejournal.com profile] mithras)
4) "When a man's partner is killed, he's supposed to do something about it. It doesn't make any difference what you thought of him. He was your partner and you're supposed to do something about it. And it happens we're in the detective business. Well, when one of your organization gets killed, it's-it's bad business to let the killer get away with it, bad all around, bad for every detective everywhere."

(Blade Runner - Guessed by [livejournal.com profile] finn2)
5) "Captain Bryant toka. Meni-o mae-yo."

(The Treasure of the Sierra Madre - Guessed by [livejournal.com profile] egearman)
6) "A thousand men, say, go searchin' for gold. After six months, one of them's lucky: one out of a thousand. His find represents not only his own labor, but that of nine hundred and ninety-nine others to boot. That's six thousand months, five hundred years, scramblin' over a mountain, goin' hungry and thirsty. An ounce of gold, mister, is worth what it is because of the human labor that went into the findin' and the gettin' of it."

(Silverado - Guessed by [livejournal.com profile] egearman)
7) "Mind? You bring a posse to my best hideout and you ask me if I mind? Mister, I don't know any of those names. You're about to die."

8) "Hostage etiquette: kidnapper pays the incidentals."

(Yellowbeard - Guessed by [livejournal.com profile] xambrius)
9) "Dying's the easy way out. You won't catch me dying. They'll have to kill me before I die!"

(Young Frankenstein - Guessed by [livejournal.com profile] flemco)
10) "Let me out. Let me out of here. Get me the hell out of here. What's the matter with you people? I was joking! Don't you know a joke when you hear one? HA-HA-HA-HA. Jesus Christ, get me out of here! Open this goddamn door or I'll kick your rotten heads in! Mommy!"

Why, #10 would be Young Frankenstein.

[identity profile] kierthos.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)
You are correct, sir!

#5 - Blade Runner - ?

[identity profile] kierthos.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep. :) It was a bitch finding a quote from that movie that just didn't give it away, although I was sorely tempted to just use "He say you Blade Runner."

1 - Casablanca

6 - Treasure of Sierra Madre ?

7 - Silverado

[identity profile] kierthos.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, close enough (you left out the two "the"'s in the movie title), and yes.

[identity profile] egearman.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I wasn't going to look it up on IMDB as I felt that might be close to cheating.

[identity profile] kierthos.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm actually kind of surprised that no one got Casablanca before you did.

[identity profile] jdack.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
7. is silver... Damnit, beaten to the punch.

[identity profile] kierthos.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Next time, grasshopper, you must act faster.

[identity profile] kostika.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Number 2 is trick question. It's Usual Suspects.

[identity profile] kierthos.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
You're right, but how is it a trick question?

[identity profile] kostika.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
It sounds like something Bruce Willis would say.

[identity profile] kierthos.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
No, no... his line is "Yippie ki-yay, motherfucker." :P

(Yes, it does sort of sound like a Bruce Willis/Die Hard line... perhaps Stephen Baldwin was channeling Bruce that day...)

[identity profile] kierthos.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah yes. I'd forgotten about that movie. (Perhaps there was a reason for that...)

[identity profile] kostika.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Shut your pie hole. It's a good movie.

[identity profile] kierthos.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
No it's not. It's a movie that is enjoyably bad. It's over the top bad. It's a movie that doesn't care how bad it is.

Gary Oldman in particular is so over the top evil, it's hilarious.

It's a great popcorn-cruncher, though.

[identity profile] kostika.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
BAH! Movies don't have to be serious to be good.

It's like a live action comic book.

Ya gotta be careful with #9. Them Yellowbeards is never more dangerous than when they's dead.

correct!

[identity profile] mithras.livejournal.com 2008-02-28 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
4 has got to be "The Maltese Falcon".

Ok. It -could- be "Cast a Deadly Spell", but I doubt it.

[identity profile] kierthos.livejournal.com 2008-02-28 06:05 am (UTC)(link)
You are correct in that it's The Maltese Falcon.
