engfah....

Been one of those nights at work... where I'm trying to get all the ugly jobs out of the way so the morning crew (aka 1st shift) won't have too much of a problem with the one job that I'm probably going to have to leave for them to run....

Which, of course, is the one that I've been converting file types on all night, off and on. Note: 18 inch x 24 inch, 300 dpi .TIFF files are not your friend. Nor is converting them to .PDFs easy at all when you have to do it one at a time.

At least there were no "omigod, I forgot my wedding/bar mitzvah/sorority rush/church retreat is tomorrow, and I need all kinds of help" crap jobs. I may procrastinate myself on some things, but I tend to think if I was getting married, I'd have the programs printed sometime a bit earlier then 6 hours before the wedding.

my kinko's folks like me... I come in with a large-ish job, they ask when I need it by, and I'm usually like, oh, sometime in the next 10 days. anything else and it's easy/small enough for me to do at the do it yourself machines. ^_^

Don't get me wrong... probably 98% of the customers we get on any given day are not a problem. Sure, we get some people who don't know how to use the machines, but most of them ask for help before making a couple hundred bad copies.

It's like... someone could have 100 tasks, and get 99 of them perfectly, and screw up just one of them. It will be that one that sticks in most people's minds.

So it is with the customers I deal with. Even working the night shift, I do see some customers, and there are ones I don't mind helping at all, and then there are others who I wish would not come back in the store again.

Oh well... back to the Photoshop editing... creating South Park icons of all the people at work.
