Scott Kurtz has a point

However, in rebuttal:

While I can see certain changes being made in the movie because Lucas wanted to have certain things in the movie that weren't available at the time of the original shooting, there is no goddamn way to justify either Greedo shooting first, or Han and Greedo shooting at the same time. If Lucas had really wanted Greedo to shoot first, then it could easily have been done at the time.

As it stands, screw you Lucas, I ain't buying your DVDs.

Actually it is very likly he couldn't do it the first time. He was on a massive tight schedule and under huge pressure from the studio. He had to fire his first editor and then get new ones to do it from the begining on short notice. So really its possible he couldn't do it, and now he has. Really who cares if he changed one or two scenes. I'm buying the DVD's

That's as may be, but I still can't see how Lucas could possibly have thought that having Greedo shoot from two feet away and miss was a good thing. Or even a better thing then not shooting.

And it's not so much that he missed. It's that the blaster bolt comes out at an angle 15-20 degrees off from the barrel. It's not the remakes. It's the crappy way they were done.

Plus, what was that wrong about letting Han have a bastard moment in the film? (I do note that in all this, no one has seemed to ask Harrison Ford what his opinion on one of his more famous characters is.)

I'm guessing that like most of us, who aren't insane and think we're jedi, he doesn't care. So what if a scene or two got changed. So what if its not perfect. I really don't care. Cause you know what? I likely won't notice cause I don't have the movie memorised. I don't even know the scene you're on about. Although now I'll be looking for it whenI watch it.
