So, apparently, Trent Lott is going to resign at the end of the year.

Apparently, it's not for health reasons... there's no rumors (thus far) about him being gay... and it's a bit late to jump into the field for running for President.

Wonder what it could be?

Oh hell yeah. I wouldn't be surprised if Las Vegas oddsmakers had a book on this going. I mean, they ran a book for "Who Shot Montgomery Burns?" for the Simpsons.

Pretty sure they'd run a "Next Uncloseted Republican" one.

Appears to be a means to escape the coming 'law' that congress critters can't work for PACs/lobbying firms for two years after leaving their government jobs.

But 'Gay Scandal' is just as likely these days.
