Oh give me a fucking break

NYPD bitches about policy that would indicate if they were sober or not when they shot someone.

Their complaint is that it's an unreasonable search and that "there is no reason or justification to subject an officer who legally fires a weapon ... to the humiliation and psychological trauma of a mandatory Breathalyzer test."

Yeah, except for the fact that... I don't know... you shot someone? I mean, hell, if I'm driving erratically, or acting weirdly around a police officer, or any number of other things.... you know, I'd bet it would be standard procedure to see if I'm drunk or stoned or whatever.

Same goes for the cops. I have no problem with a policy that says that they shouldn't have to show if they were impaired due to alcohol or drugs if they resort to lethal force.

methinks they need to STFU and stop thinking they're above the law they supposedly uphold, and that they're some sort of demigods above us poor citizen schmucks.

They so much as fire their weapons in the vicinity of a living thing, they should have to submit to drug and alcohol testing as part of their report.

Considering I got pulled over and grilled with questions on a Saturday morning at 10am, for, get this, "Failing to stop behind the white line at a stop sign" in a shitty little 2 way intersection in the 'burbs, (which was BS because I did stop and then had to roll past the white line so i could see Oncoming fucking traffic past the god damn brushes) I don't think it's too much to ask that men who carry guns and get away with harassing the populace be required to prove they're not hopped up and/or drunk while they're at it.

Damn straight.

And you know it's not the good cops who have to worry about this shit. It's the ones that think it's okay to have a couple of drinks during their shift that are sweating this like it's the judgement of doom.
