So, the other day
I'm going down to get something to eat, and on the way down in the elevator, I get asked if my cable TV is back on.
Now, this was news to me, because I didn't know my cable TV was out. I mean, seriously, I hadn't watched any TV in two or three days.
And that got me thinking about how little television I actually watch. Lately, as in the last several months, it seems I only watch TV on Sunday and Monday nights, and it's not just because those are the nights I have off (although that is a large part of it), but because daytime TV sucks. Most channels are either showing puerile kiddie shows or puerile soaps. And I can't figure out how MTV can still call itself Music Television when they don't show any damn videos any more (and VH1 isn't far behind in crappy programs instead of videos either).
I watch Sunday night's Adult Swim line-up (three+ hours of cartoons), maybe an episode or two of CSI reruns or Law & Order reruns on Monday, Monday Night Raw (yes, I'm a pro-wrestling fan), and then a couple hours of Monday night's Adult Swim line-up.
But that's pretty much it.
There's tons of shows that are new or old that I've never seen an episode of. Lost? Haven't seen it, haven't missed it. Didn't even really discover the humor that is Scrubs until early this year. I generally don't watch the news, because I can read that online, and I don't have nearly the urge to scream profanities at my computer as I do for the talking shitheads who pass for TV journalists these days.
I mean, I already knew I was abnormal, spending more time in front of my computer then in front of my TV, but am I really that odd, given then crap that passes for programming these days?
