[wrestling] my god, that's lame

The "Vince McMahon spazzing out over titles" has got to be the lamest goddamn thing I've seen on WWE in years.

who lost the bet between him and donald trump and had to shave their head?

[identity profile] kierthos.livejournal.com 2007-06-05 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
Vince lost. (I mean, come on... was anyone expecting Donald Trump to lose and have his head shaved?)

Anyway, that was a couple months back. He already has a decent head of hair again.

I have to say that the booking tonight did suck, tho I can see it used by shane and or H to say that vince is incompetent and someone else needs tha reigns for a bit. It's the same way they got linda out of the spotlight. And I also have to say that it's really hard to swallow that vince could go toe to toe with austin and the rock but not with lashley?! wtf?!

[identity profile] kierthos.livejournal.com 2007-06-05 11:03 am (UTC)(link)
Well, see, the thing is, having Vince be able to take on Austin and the Rock at various points was equally as lame. The thing of it is, most, hell, all of the times that he fought Austin or the Rock, he either lost or had tons of help.

Same with Lashley. It's either "get head handed to him by the large, heavily muscled black man" or "get Umaga, Shane, and whoever else is handy to beat him with clubs first and then claim a personal victory".

Even with that, I didn't horribly mind him feuding with Lashley. He's done this with other wrestlers. But the whole "I lost my title. Waaaaaah. I'm going to make everyone else with a title hate life tonight." crapola was pretty goddamned weak. We're talking Gobbledegooky weak.

But yeah, the booking sucked. What isn't helping with that is that HHH (much as I don't like him being the champ a large amount of the time which of course has NOTHING to do with him being married to Stephanie McMahon, he does work a pretty good match) is out, HBK is out (okay, I'm not overly fond of HBK either, but again, he can work a damn good match), and they're really not building anyone into those top spots.

I mean, how many more times can they do Cena vs. Umaga or Cena vs. Khali?

Luckily, the draft is next week and the rumor boards are already buzzing that one of my favorite wrestlers is coming to RAW. Chris Benoit. (And honestly, I'd have him kick the shit out of Carlito in his first match. Even with that, though... Carlito makes a pretty damned good heel.)

I'd love to see benoti back on raw, and tho I think carlito makes a good heel, he needs a stable . . .

Considering ol' Vince is pretty much the Emperor of Lameland, is that *really that surprising?

I've pretty much given up on pro wrestling. Wrestling isn't supposed to have smegging plot arcs, plot twists, or *plot, period! It's supposed to have pain, violence, blood & maybe a little T&A. If I wanted to watch something this overworked & overdone, I'd watch soap operas, or collections of speeches by old Dubya.

I miss the days of Stone Cold & The Rock, I really do...

[identity profile] kierthos.livejournal.com 2007-06-05 11:05 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, well, the only way the Rock is ever coming back to wrestling is if his movie career inexplicably dries up (which considering how meh some of his last movies have been and done in theaters, I'm surprised he's even getting movie roles).

And Austin? Man, he might show up once in a blue moon, but he's never being full time again.

I know, but I still miss 'em, especially when I consider some of the dorks they have bouncing around the ring these days. =rolls eyes=

Well I have to say that the NWA was abot to deliver on both counts, granted the production value wasn't as high, but they were able to tell great stories and have good believable violence , w/o totally having to be ECW.

Are you in contact with Deec?
We lost his #.
I just wanted him to know that Alan Parsons is coming to riverbend next week. I know he is a big fan.
