I liked Dresden Files last night

But I figure they can only drag out this "Murphy isn't allowed to really know about magic" for too much longer. Because frankly, it's a plot hole.

If she doesn't know and/or doesn't really believe, why the hell does she even hire/invite Dresden out to look at crime scenes?

Not that big of a plot hole. In the real world, skeptical police officers call in "psychic investigators" all the time. Even when a particular psychic was little to no help on one investigation, he/she will be called in on the next investigation just in case. Sometimes the psychic does it for free. Sometimes the psychic gets paid for his/her services. What surprises me is that as far as I know, no indignant citizens have ever reacted to this practice by suing the police for misuse of public funds. To me, that is the gaping plot hole — in real life!

Maybe part of her wants to believe, but can't as it doesn't fit into her world. Willful blindness, I believe is the phrase.

Either way, it's a good series.
