[WoW] Well, I might not be making Dirge after all

You see, I hit exalted with the Scyers faction and picked up a [Retainer's Blade]. Comparable damage, nice stats.

That was a couple days ago. Today, I finished the Netherwing quest line in Shadowmoon Valley. (This is the quest line that ends with a nice reward and neutral faction with the Netherwing). My reward? A [Claw of the Netherwing Flight]. Now, I'm already using [Borak's Reminder] as a main-hand dagger, and out of the two others, the Claw of the Netherwing Flight is the better choice. Yes, it's a slower off-hand, but it and Borak's are the two best daggers I have.

Anyway, if the Retainer's Blade is going to end up being a downgrade, I suspect that [Dirge] would be too. Yes, it's higher DPS. But it's an off-hand, so that matter a lot less. (I'm not combat daggers. I'm subtlety.)

Now, if I don't make it... I've got several hundred gold worth of materials sitting in my bank that can go towards getting an epic mount. (currently at just over 2700 gold.) I'm going to have to think about this...

What I need is a gear emulator where I can see if Dirge would actually be an upgrade without actually making it first.

You could try something like
http://wow-en.curse-gaming.com/files/details/166/equipcompare/

I don't know how accurate it is, but it could help.

Not exactly what I meant... what I need is something where I can pretend to equip items to see how much better or worse something is without actually equipping it. I can already compare the item stats by looking on thottbot or wherever. What I need to see is how much my crit rate, AP, damage, etc. will change.

I thought it did that? If not theory craft claims to do that (not that I can get it to work...)
