So I bought a new DVD player
Thirty-something bucks and it was worth every penny. (also picked up Yellowbeard and Kill Bill: vol 1 on DVD) Finally watched Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, too. I liked it, but it wasn't quite as good as the first movie, IMAO. I knew it was going to be a cliffhanger movie of sorts, but I really hope this doesn't continue to be Hollywood's plan for sequels. It gets old after a while.
Mind you, here's what I really liked:
The entire fight scene on the mill wheel.
Captain Jack Sparrow seasoning himself.
Elizabeth "collapsing" from the heat and Jack, Norrington and Will ignoring her to continue fighting each other.
The crews' reaction to Jack not wanting to go back for his hat.
Jack getting his hat back.
The final scene with the kraken.
Jack saying "Look, undead monkey!"
and of course, the final scene of the movie.
