Yeah, no kidding. I think part of this comes from the fact that a verdict in his trial is supposed to be delivered within the next 3-4 weeks, and he's trying to earn some "please don't put me up against a wall and shoot me" points.
My mother interpreted the comment in more of a 'I wonder what they've been feeding him/I wonder if we can find some here so we can live in his world too' kind of light, but frankly it's probably some glorious freewheeling fagriot of both factors, probably plus sheer Cell Madness.
