The boxed off area is what "alerted" me, in, oh, about five seconds, that something was wrong with the pic. Of couse, I use Photoshop practically every day at work.
It's supposed to be a shot of an area in Lebanon after Israel bombed it. The problem is, most of the smoke was added to the photo. For example, the smoke starting from the building in the lower left corner? Added. All of it.
The untouched-up photo has a lot less smoke, and therefore, doesn't make the Israelis look nearly as bad. Reuters pretty much immediately pulled the entire photo library of the photographer who took and editted this picture, but they weren't the ones who originally realized that it was an altered photo. Sad, really. I mean, it should be obvious that it was manipulated.
