Well, damn.
Dec. 6th, 2012 05:45 pmJim DeMint is leaving the Senate in early 2013. (His term didn't end until 2016.)
He's apparently going to be taking over at the Heritage Foundation (it's a conservative think-tank.) I can only assume that he's getting more money for that, and that there's some new restrictions on active members of Congress that he's ducking out to avoid. ("If you resign from the Senate before such-and-such date, this doesn't apply to you" kind of thing.)
Good fucking riddance.
