Mississippi's 'a zygote is a person' ballot failed at the polls.

For all the faults the bill had, and indeed it had many, I was reluctantly resolved to the idea that this would pass. A Deep South state passing a law that restricted the reproductive rights of women?

And it didn't even get 45% of the vote? Ho-lee shit. Indeed. Like a fox.

The voters have spoken. Of course, we have to remember, that when the voters speak along the lines that neocons like, it's "the voters have spoken". When it's along lines the neocons don't like, it's "the voters were deceived/confused/high on crack". Because even though they lost in Mississippi, the Personhood USA group (and they bitch about us liberals being politically correct?) are still trying to get a similar ballot going in Florida, Montana, Ohio, and Oregon. I can only hope it fails in those states too.
