Andrea Rossi is firing up his 1 MW reactor today/tonight. That is, if it isn't a load of hooey, which many suspect it is.

Frankly, I don't understand most of the physics behind it, as many people claim it's cold fusion all over again (cold fusion 2: electric boogaloo?), but Rossi has said it's Low Energy Nuclear Reaction. Which, oddly enough, is another term for cold fusion.

When people refer to cold fusion, it's basically the latest in a long series of scientific 'breakthroughs' that turned out to be bupkiss. So, in a day or so, we'll find out if this is another "but it worked in our lab" boondoggle, or if it's a "holy shit, we changed physics (a bit)" moment.

The group explained its reasons why it's grown incensed with Bachmann.

"I think it's pretty obvious that Michele Bachmann is about Michele Bachmann," American Majority Executive Director Matt Robbins said.

The NCAA has updated their 'standards' to ensure that student-athletes get a couple grand past full boat, and that incoming freshman must be *gasp* C+ students.

The $2000 above room, board, books and tuition is a pittance, compared to what the colleges earn off of their student-athletes, but the increased scholastic requirements are a step in the right direction.

Snow might be hitting the East Coast a wee bit earlier then expected.

Apparently, it DID snow in Buffalo, New York yesterday.

Some big banks have decided not to charge debit card fees after all.

J.P. Morgan joins U.S. Bancorp, Citigroup Inc., PNC Financial Services Group Inc., KeyCorp and other large banks that have said in recent days that they won't impose monthly fees on debit cards. None of those banks said they made their decisions because of the outcry over Bank of America's fees.

Bolded part: Yeah, right.

Now if only Bank of America would pull its' head out of its' ass.

...and now Bank of America is rethinking their debit card fee. Maybe only to the point of expanding who won't get hit by it, but hey....
