I'm torn on this one

Westboro Baptist Church no longer planning to picket soldier's funeral in Aiken.

I grew up in Aiken, you see. And although, to the best of my knowledge, I never met Staff Sergeant Harley or any of his family, if the WBC had decided to protest, I would have made some effort to get down there to block the WBC from protesting.

But I'm not especially pleased that they're getting some airtime to expound their views. Still, they aren't picketing the funeral, so at least Mr. Harley's family and friends can lay him to rest without that sort of nonsense going on outside the cemetery.

Oh, this could get interesting

Chinese Communist elders issue an appeal for removing the restrictions on free speech in China.

I'm thinking that anyone who signed that appeal is going to end up in house arrest. At least.

I roll to disbelieve.
